CPD

CPD & The Genki School

The Genki School makes provision available for postgraduate Shiatsu practitioners to develop their CPD record.

Contact the school for further info.

What is CPD?

Continuous Professional Development (CPD) is an established and important marker of good practice, and is considered to be a requirement for those working within Shiatsu.

Shiatsu falls within the general definition of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM), which by default indicates that most Shiatsu practitioners operate via private practice and in a field that in many ways is self regulated.

Shiatsu-specific definitions of CPD:

A requirement for Shiatsu practitioners to be aware of, and familiar with, new and important developments and advances in their own field of practice, and also of changes in how Shiatsu and CAM generally is perceived within the culture.

A requirement for Shiatsu practitioners to be able progressively to qualify their Shiatsu-based activities, and to be able to justify that progress where circumstances might require that there be some means of evaluating a practitioner's professional competence.
