The Shiatsu Clinic
Booking A Shiatsu Treatment
Neck & shoulder stretch in side position.
Overview
The Shiatsu practitioner uses carefully applied pressure on the acupressure points, and massage of the muscles together with gentle manipulation and movement of the joints. Together with appropriate stretches of the body, Shiatsu releases, redistributes, and moves blocked energy within the body's meridian system.
Stretching the Gallbladder meridian on the side.
Techniques may vary between practitioners, however, Shiatsu is a fully-clothed
massage usually carried out on a futon (a soft, upholstered mat), and
perhaps with the body supported by cushions. Alternatively, a specifically
designed chair or a conventional massage table (or a combination of
these) may be employed. Shiatsu therapy is therefore available to people
of full or limited mobility alike.
Each treatment will require approximately 1 hour, and may include an initial period of consultation. The first visit will usually require a full consultation, and a full hour of Shiatsu treatment.
Shiatsu can be very effective for the treatment of musculo-skeletal problems; and could help with stress management and many commonly experienced ailments using self-treatment and exercises.
