This course is designed to afford a thorough understanding of what Shiatsu is, the way it works, how to use it, and is suitable for anyone wishing to improve his or her own health and learn techniques for helping family and friends.
Covering the first stage of professional studies, Stage-1 of the first year of study will enable you to understand how useful the Oriental Model can be in improving health and awareness. This course is integral within the full three-year programme, and also is a complete foundation for use with other disciplines such as Aromatherapy, massage, physiotherapy, and martial arts.

The history and development of Shiatsu as a healing art.
Full body treatment - including sitting position.
Oriental energetics (Yin / Yang and the 5-element Sheng cycle).
Self-development in the form of exercises to improve focus and flexibility.
Do-In - Oriental exercises for health and vitality.
Basic anatomy - the skeletal system, basic anatomy of the organs.
Study of the 7 classical meridian pairs.
Point location, and their use for treating common ailments.
Diagnoses of the face and posture.
